Birdy’s Daughter™ is an ethically sourced Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee company founded in 2019 by Caron Morgan. Caron was born in Jamaica and lives in Toronto. She is also a board member of JAWiC, (Jamaican Women in Coffee) whose mandate is to, "build sustainable systems to empower women in coffee." A chance meeting several years ago led to Caron being introduced to one of Jamaica’s most respected independent farming families and together they pledged to keep the tradition of family owned, quality farms alive.
Japan currently buys 80% of all JBM and small independent growers increasingly struggle to compete with the larger conglomerates. Birdy's Daughter™ is a brand with real people and families working behind it. Its mission is to support Jamaican community.
We all know that coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. But what many may not realize is that it's also one of the crops sprayed most heavily with toxic herbicides and pesticides. These chemicals can have very harmful effects on humans when ingested over a long period of time.
That's why we at Birdy's Daughter™ are proud to offer Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, grown in UNESCO protected lands without any use of harsh chemicals, pesticides or herbicides. This means you can enjoy your favorite cup o' Joe knowing that you're doing so safely and responsibly! We take great care to ensure our beans are free from such contaminants - something other producers often don't bother with due to cost concerns or lack thereof knowledge about these dangers.
Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee is world renowned for its creamy chocolatey and sweet herb notes, smooth finish and utter lack of bitterness.
Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee is grown exclusively in UNESCO designated lands and considered one of the world’s rarest specialty coffees.
Hi, I'm Birdy's Daughter™!
I was born in Jamaica and raised in Toronto, Canada. For years I'd heard about the extremely rare and incredibly delicious Jamaican Blue Mountain® coffee. But my life changed when I met a community of independent farmers living in the Blue Mountains. These farmers were cultivating coffee as high as 5,000 feet above sea level, using methods that were centuries old.. One sip and I was hooked.. There was no way, I was going to keep this to myself! So, I teamed up with these incredible men and women and created a company committed to honouring tradition, paying the farmers fairly and making sure as many people as possible get to experience this exotic and rare earthly gift.
My best to you with love,
